Onset Diabetes & General Diabetes Health Concerns
I know what you’re thinking: if I didn't’t get
diabetes when I was younger, there’s no chance I’ll
ever get them, right? Wrong. There are two different types
of diabetes that affect both children and adults. Type 2 diabetes
is usually developed by people in their older age because
either they are not able to produce enough insulin, or their
cells reject the insulin that their body creates. Insulin
helps the body use the sugar that it already has in its system
to aid in the functioning of the body. It also brings the
sugar from the blood into the cells, which (sugar) is what
is needed to bring the cells into the blood stream. The problem
occurs when the sugar builds up into the blood stream rather
than living in the cells. It can cause two problems: because
your cells aren’t able to have the proper amount of
sugar, you lose large amounts of energy. Having high blood
glucose levels over a long period of time may hurt your kidneys,
nerves, eyes, and heart.
Staying clear of sugar and foods high in fat will help prevent
Type 2 diabetes.
